Masonite questions we get at the counter
Asked at the counter, answered here.
Do you carry Masonite interior and exterior doors?
Yes. We sell Masonite exterior fibreglass and steel doors, the Masonite Performance Door System, and interior moulded-panel, flush, bifold and barn doors, in stock or by special order.
What is the Masonite Performance Door System?
A fibreglass entry door sold as a complete unit with a square-edge slab, rot-resistant frame, self-adjusting sill and adaptive weatherstripping. Masonite rates it 64% better at keeping air and water out than the leading competitor.
Hollow core or solid core?
Hollow core is lighter and costs less, which suits closets and utility rooms. Solid core is heavier, feels sturdier and cuts sound, so it is worth it for bedrooms, bathrooms and offices.
Slab or pre-hung?
Pre-hung comes already hung in its frame. It is faster to install and the right choice when the old frame is damaged or the size is changing. A slab replaces just the door in a sound existing frame.
What measurements do you need?
For a pre-hung door: rough opening width and height, wall thickness and handing. For a slab: the existing door’s width, height and thickness, plus hinge and lock bore positions.
Do you install?
We do not install, but we supply the trade that does and can recommend installers working locally.
