Will my old Milwaukee batteries fit a new tool?
Every M18™ battery Milwaukee has made since 2008 fits every M18™ tool, and every M12™ battery fits every M12™ tool. The two platforms do not interchange with each other. The older V18 and V28 NiCd systems are discontinued and do not fit either.
What is the difference between M12™, M18™ and M18 FUEL™?
M12™ and M18™ are the two battery platforms — 12 volt sub-compact and 18 volt full-size. FUEL™ is the brushless, higher-output range within each platform, with the POWERSTATE™ motor and REDLINK PLUS™ electronics. Non-FUEL M18™ tools use the same batteries at a lower price.
Should I buy a bare tool or a kit?
Buy one kit to get batteries and a charger, then buy bare tools after that. Model numbers ending in -20 are bare tools; -21 and -22 are one- and two-battery kits. A bare tool is typically well under the kit price and you already own the packs.
What is the Milwaukee warranty?
Most M18™ and M12™ power tools carry a five-year limited warranty. M18™ batteries carry three years, M12™ batteries two years, outdoor power equipment three years, and most hand tools and PACKOUT™ are limited lifetime. Terms vary by product, so keep the receipt — we hold a copy at the counter.
Do you repair Milwaukee tools?
We take tools in at the counter and route them to Milwaukee eService or the nearest authorised service centre. Bring the tool, the battery and the receipt if you have it.
Do you have batteries in stock?
Yes. M18™ XC5.0 and HIGH OUTPUT™ packs, M12™ CP and XC packs, and the M18™/M12™ multi-voltage charger are kept on the wall. Call the counter to confirm before you drive over.
Can you order a tool you do not stock?
Yes. We can order across the Milwaukee catalogue — including PACKOUT™ pieces and outdoor equipment — and give you a lead time at the counter rather than a guess.
Is Milwaukee worth the price over DEWALT?
They are the two best cordless platforms sold and we stock both. Milwaukee has the deeper trade range — plumbing, electrical, PACKOUT™ — and the longer tool warranty. DEWALT is often the better price on a promoted kit. Pick the platform your existing batteries are on, or the one that feels right in your hand.
