What is covered, and how to keep it that way
Warranty terms come from Milwaukee and differ by product. We will pull the right sheet for what you buy.
Warranty
How coverage works
- Most M18™ and M12™ power tools carry a five-year limited warranty from the date of purchase. Some tools — compressors, 1 in. high-torque wrenches, some FUEL™ outdoor units — are three years; check the sheet in the box.
- M18™ batteries carry three years, M12™ batteries two. Ordinary capacity loss from charge cycles is not a defect.
- Most hand tools and PACKOUT™ are limited lifetime. LEDs in the work lights are covered for the life of the light.
- Keep the receipt. We hold a copy of the sale at the counter. Register the tool at milwaukeetool.com and the date is on file either way.
Care
Keeping it right
- Blow the vents out. A POWERSTATE™ motor still overheats if the intake is packed with drywall dust.
- REDLITHIUM™ packs are rated below 0°F, but do not charge a frozen pack — let it come up to room temperature first.
- Store batteries at part charge if a tool is going away for the season. Do not leave them flat.
- Change the blade before you force the cut. A dull SAWZALL® blade is how most cooked motors get that way.
