Can you match a color that is not a Benjamin Moore color?
Yes. Bring a chip, a sample, or a photograph. Our spectrophotometer reads the sample and we tint the closest match in whichever Benjamin Moore product you have chosen. A physical sample matches far more accurately than a photo.
Which line should I use on kitchen cabinets?
ADVANCE. It is a waterborne alkyd, so it levels out like an oil-based enamel and cures hard, but it cleans up with water and has far less odor. Plan on longer dry times between coats than a standard latex.
How much paint do I need?
Roughly one gallon per 350–400 square feet per coat. Bring your rough dimensions to the counter and we will work it out with you, including trim and ceiling.
Do you sell pint samples?
Yes, in most Benjamin Moore lines. Paint two coats on a scrap of primed board rather than the wall itself, then move it around the room at different times of day.
What is the difference between Aura and Regal Select?
Aura has better hide, deeper color retention and often covers in fewer coats, which can make it cheaper on a big job despite the higher price per gallon. Regal Select is excellent paint at a lower cost per gallon and is what most of our contractors buy by the five.
Can I use interior paint outside if it is under a porch roof?
No. Exterior paint is formulated for temperature movement, moisture and UV. A covered porch still sees all three.
Do you tint Arborcoat while I wait?
Yes, all five opacities. Bring a piece of the actual decking or siding if you can — the substrate changes how the stain reads.
