Warranty, care and samples

What Fiberon covers, how to keep a composite deck looking new, how our samples work, and the literature we can send you.

Warranty explained

What Fiberon covers, in plain terms.

The published warranty has two parts. The exact term depends on the line and the model year.

Structural (performance)Covers splitting, splintering, rot, and structural damage from termites or fungal decay, for the residential term stated on the certificate.
Stain & fadeCovers colour change beyond the stated measure and stains from food and drink that soap and water will not remove, when cleaned within the stated window (typically 7 days).
Term by line25 years on GoodLife and Sanctuary · 50 years on Concordia, Paramount and Promenade. Commercial terms are shorter.
What voids itInstallation outside the published instructions (joist spacing, gapping, fasteners), improper storage before install, and damage from misuse or ordinary weathering.
How to claimKeep the receipt and the line and colour name. Photograph the problem, then bring both to the counter; we help file the claim with Fiberon.
Transferable?Residential warranties are transferable once to a subsequent homeowner within the stated period.

This is our summary, not the warranty. The certificate for your line is the document that governs, and we keep a copy of what you bought against your job.

Care & maintenance

Keeping a composite deck looking new.

Composite is low-maintenance, not no-maintenance. This is the routine we give every customer.

Do this

  • Sweep leaves and pollen off before they sit wet for days
  • Wash twice a year with warm soapy water and a soft-bristle brush
  • Rinse under planters, mats and grill areas where debris collects
  • Treat grease spills the same day with a degreaser made for composite
  • Clear the gaps between boards so water drains and the joists stay dry
  • Use plastic shovels for snow, and calcium chloride rather than rock salt

Avoid this

  • Pressure washing above the pressure Fiberon publishes, or with a narrow nozzle up close
  • Abrasive pads, sandpaper, or solvent cleaners on the cap
  • Rubber-backed mats that trap moisture against the board
  • Metal shovels or ice picks on the surface
  • Bleach on multi-tonal boards without testing an offcut first
  • Leaving pool chemicals or fertiliser granules sitting on the deck

Ask the counter for Fiberon’s care sheet with the approved cleaners and the pressure-washer limits for the line you own.

How samples work

Every sample comes labelled.

Each take-home board carries Fiberon’s card with the line, collection and colour name, plus a photograph of a whole deck in that colour, because a single board never shows the full range of tone in a run. Lay it where the deck will go and look at it morning, noon and evening.

  • Free, no limit within reason
  • Bring it back or keep it
  • Tell us the colour name on the card and we price the deck
